If you build it, they will come! “Field of Dreams” inspired millions after its release in 1989, and now we’re welcoming you to this iconic home, farm, baseball field and piece of heaven on earth in Dyersville, Iowa. 


On this tour, you’ll learn about the Rockford Peaches women’s baseball team, visit the famous baseball field where “Field of Dreams” was filmed, peruse a collection of sports memorabilia and history at the Chicago Sports Museum, attend a Chicago Cubs game, take a guided tour of Wrigley field and more!

Day 1: (D)Come experience the Field of Dreams & the Great Midwest Baseball Tour.

Today we will enjoy a relaxing motorcoach ride as we get to know our new friends. Tonight we will have an overnight stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Rockford, IL.

Tonight's dinner is a great time at the Machine Shed Restaurant, dedicated to the American Farmer. You enjoy a wonderful home cooked meal in a farm-fun atmosphere that includes homemade pie!

Day 2: (B)After an included breakfast, we head to the Midway Museum for a guided tour. This is a day at the movies, beginning with an exhibit about The All-American Girls Baseball League a moment in history captured in the movie "A League of Their Own. “The Rockford Midway Museum has many other exhibits as well including a Victorian Village, Heritage Garden and since Rockford is the official "Home of the Sock Monkey" you will learn about this popular folk art toy. After lunch on your own we will travel to Dyersville, Iowa.

 

This afternoon we visit the movie site of "Field of Dreams." This baseball field is a pop-culture tourist attraction, originally built for the 1989 movie of the same name. It's like a step back in time when you tour the Lansing Family Farm House. Hear their story and learn how family homestead became the set for the Kinsella family in the 1989 fantasy classic movie. You will also have time to walk around the magical baseball field that inspired the movie!

Leaving The Field of Dreams we travel to nearby Dubuque, IA for an overnight at the Fairfield Inn. This hotel is next to the Kennedy Mall where you can relax and have dinner on your own.  


Day 3: (B,)Following Breakfast, we depart for Chicago. Your afternoon highlight is The Chicago Sports Museum combines uniquely Chicago sports memorabilia and an impressive collection of game-used treasures and other artifacts. This 23,000-square-foot space celebrates all of Chicago's major sports teams and has high-tech interactive experiences—including skill challenges and simulated experiences.

This evening we check into the beautiful Hilton Oakbrook for a two night stay. Tonight we will enjoy watching the Chicago Cub's play their famous rivals the St. Louis Cardinals! Arrive at Wrigley Field which is the second oldest ball park in the United States. Get settled in your seat and dinner is on your own at the ball park!! Chicago Dog anyone?  


Day 4: (B, D)After breakfast at the hotel you head into Chicago for sightseeing. Meet your guide for a 2 hour tour and see some of the sites related to the Blues Brothers movie. Some of the film related sites you will see are: Elwood's Apartment, Soul Food Cafe, James Brown Church scene location, Daly Plaza and more! Then you have free time at Navy Pier, a 3,300-foot-long pier on the Chicago shoreline of Lake Michigan. You will have time for lunch on your own and a chance to explore the pier's attractions. Followed by time on North Michigan Ave, known as the "The Magnificent Mile" Here there are more than 450 retailers, including flag ship experiences, major department stores, and international designers.

Tonight we will dine at the dinner-circus-vaudeville attraction known as "Teatro ZinZanni. It's an immersive show with cirque, cabaret, music, magic, comedy, aerialists, dinner and cocktails, all inside a lavish mirror tent. It's a delightful schizophrenic extravaganza. A truly magical experience, with amazing performers and top notch food.

Day 5: (B)After breakfast at the hotel you load up and check out and head to Wrigley Field! Get a behind-the-scenes look at the legendary home of the Chicago Cubs with Wrigley Field Tours. Built in 1914, this must-see Chicago attraction houses more than 100 years of history. This afternoon we will depart for home with lunch on your own.
